Why design matters to your company?

Every year we see more design centred companies, growing and bringing profit to the happy investors, whom 10 years ago didn’t believe in the impact of design. But nowadays it is not a matter of believe, it is just easy math. Apple is the most profitable company in the world and its success is largely based on its design. This and others evident cases like Tesla, Airbnb, Twitter made the world realize that good design and good user experience sell more and create client loyalty.

We can see that all types of consumers are becoming more aware of good design. People consume thousands of images per day, creating a solid visual culture. That’s why Instagram, Pinterest and other apps based in sharing visuals became so famous. The Copywriter role will always play an important part of companies’ identity nevertheless design and visual forms are taking a big slice creating and solidifying the brand in costumers’ mind. Sometimes this visual can be just a detail, or a simple break of a rule that will make the brand away more distinctive. Taking Instagram as example whom had a redesign few time ago.

The colourful gradients are seen by designers as something to completely avoid however it was a really successful rebranding and redesign of their product. Thanks to this original detail now any colourful gradient will make us remember Instagram.
